This home has been a labor of love over the last 20 years. It’s gone from the worst home on the block to what you see now. The home has been awarded by the local historic preservation commission for both its exterior renovation as well as it's front yard landscaping. My hope is that you enjoy it as much as I do!

The home is located in a family friendly historical neighborhood less than 2 miles from campus. It is a beautiful walk from the front door to the stadium, with people enjoying the game festivities the entire way.

The kitchen is stocked with professional grade cooking pots, pans, utensils and professional range.

Enjoy the private, fenced in backyard. There is a gas firepit, Weber gas grill, very comfortable dining for 4 and two additional rocker-gliders. There are also two additional outdoor bistro tables available upon request, each will seat two. Prepare your pre and post games on the gas Weber grill!

The winner's of Shark Tank Sweepstakes stayed here and have already made plans to be repeat guests! Come, stay and enjoy your South Bend weekend!

Leading up to our stay, during our stay, and leaving for the weekend our host was fantastic. Doug was so very generous and kind as our host. His home is beautiful and cozy in a very charming neighborhood. Thanks to our host, we had an excellent and relaxing weekend.

The home was charming and very well-appointed. We loved the backyard (with firepit!) and the location was a short 4 minute drive to campus. Our host was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. We would absolutely stay here again and would happily recommend this property to our friends.

Doug, our host, maintains a well-appointed and cozy home and his welcome treats are first rate, as well. His pride of homeownership is evident and he makes every effort to make his guests feel at home. Each couple in our group was pleased with their accommodations and we all loved the gas fireplace and Sonos system. Felt very much like a 'Big Chill' weekend. Doug was indispensable for bar/restaurant and grocery recommendations. We'd stay again in a heartbeat

Doug couldn't be a more gracious or thoughtful host and he goes above and beyond to make his guests comfortable from the chocolates on the bed, to his great recommendations as to where to eat. Doug makes you feel as though you are his friends, and not just a guest.

We just had our third stay in this home and we love it! The host, Doug, welcomes you with a personal note that explains everything for your visit. He anticipates and thinks of everything to make your stay comfortable -- including anything your might have forgotten and some delicious treats. We have visited during late summer when he made sure his home was cool and we just visited in very cold weather when he made sure his home was warm. A gas fireplace that you can set to turn on at a certain temperature keeps it cozy when there is a chill. The downstairs space is perfect for a gathering of family or friends during a stay with a nice sized table and comfortable seating by the fireplace. The upstairs provides a great environment for watching TV/Movie/Sports together or just hanging out. Soft towels and bedding is in abundance -- we sleep well! The home has a charming front porch with swing for enjoying the neighborhood and a private backyard which we did not explore yet. Doug has a great home and he really enjoys sharing it. In addition, Doug continuously works on it -- he's mentioned that the player piano downstairs will be updated to be able to stream music via remote. We look forward to seeing that and other potential upgrades. There are many special attributes about this home, but the hospitality of the host is probably the best thing. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I went back and forth trying to decide if we should we rent a house or get hotel rooms for a football weekend. We are pleased we chose to rent THIS HOUSE not once, but TWICE! This clean, uncluttered, well decorated home was convenient to both campus and restaurants and in a safe quiet neighborhood. The beds were very comfortable, and it is hard to think of anything the owner hasn't already thought of in advance. Without giving away any details, the unexpected extras from the owner were welcoming. We look forward to our next stay!

We cannot recommend this home enough to all people staying in the South Bend area. My family came in this past fall for my Dad's 40th reunion of winning the football Nation Championship, so it was a special time for us. Not only did Doug have a custom (delicious) cake for the occasion made there upon our arrival; he filled the fridge with other things in celebration just for us as well! The attention to detail that Doug pays his guests is apparent right from the very start and his commitment to ensuring you have the best stay is unwavering. He is so proud of his home, for good reason, and makes himself readily available during your stay. He truly wants it to be a home away from home for you. The location to the campus was prime, and I really can't think of one negative thing - we plan to stay at his home again in the future when we visit ND! Thanks again for everything Doug, and go Irish!

Doug was an awesome host that was more than accommodating to our group. He made sure we had all that we needed and went above and beyond as a host. The kitchen and outdoor grill were great for cooking meals for our large group. The TV room upstairs was amazing. Beds were super comfortable. The house overall is really unique and you can tell it's got character. Thanks for going the extra mile with the small details such as extra blankets, towels, and toiletries. If you're looking for a host that will make you feel at home and pay attention to the small details, Doug is your man!

House was lovingly renovated and it shows! We were very comfortable and appreciated the beverages in the fridge, the donuts and personal attention. We would highly recommend renting this house and hope to be back!

It's almost not fair that Doug is such a great host as no other landlord could compare. The house itself is immaculate and adorable and Doug's instructions and information was perfect. He was responsive and over the top with everything guests would need to feel right at home. The birthday cake, the little touches and his availability by text made it such a memorable trip.

Doug was an incredible host and we hope to return to this beautifully restored "Classic Craftsman" in the near future ! From accommodating and even providing us with incredible local baked goods for our early arrival, to providing us with the surprise of a well stocked fridge of local microbrews, this was truly a memorable stay. Two families from South Central Pennsylvania highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Notre Dame or Greater South Bend. Rudy K.

Five Star rental and then some! We have rented homes all over the world and this was the best experience yet. The home is so lovingly cared for, with many interesting and unique details throughout. Every room was incredibly clean and all appliances and electronics were in working order. The furnishings were in perfect shape, linens in like new condition and the beds were so comfortable! The outdoor garden with gliders and fire pit was an added bonus. Aside from the essentials, the owner provided additional items to make sure that we felt welcome and had everything we needed (and much more!) to enjoy our football weekend. The location was fantastic, and the setting quiet and safe. My daughter attends ND and we had eight of her friends over for dinner - they enjoyed the dining table as well as the outdoor space as a nice getaway from campus. An additional note worth mentioning - the home is not overly decorated with Notre Dame items - if you are supporting another team for your game weekend, you will feel very comfortable here.

Extremely comfortable, well-maintained home with a beautiful patio and back-yard setting for cookouts. The owner was very thoughtful, welcoming and accommodating with special treats as we arrived.

This property exceeded our highest expectations! The home is beautifully furnished with gorgeous landscaping, in a beautiful quaint neighborhood. The owner thought of everything to make us feel welcome and at home. From the chocolates at the bedside, cozy fireplace, stocked refrigerator, basket of toiletries and essentials, to a birthday cake for our son--the owner truly went above and beyond!

This was the best property our family has ever rented! Not only were the accommodations everything we expected, the sincere approach by the owner was above and beyond. He went out of his way to ensure our entire family was comfortable in his home. We scheduled this trip to treat both sets of our parents to a football weekend at UND! The entire trip surpassed our expectations, and having such a warm, welcoming place to stay made our trip more memorable! The historic neighborhood is beautiful, and we enjoyed each morning on the private backyard deck. The location is great; only a short drive to campus or a comfortable walk. We have already recommended this home to our family and friends! This is definitely a 5 star lodge, and we hope to make it an annual stay!
