Built for us as a young family, our house has grown with us. We enjoy playing board games at the dining table, cooking together in the kitchen, or curling up with a book on the porch. This is our primary home, so please expect a family home complete with family pictures and personality.
A walking/biking path steps from our back door is great for walks or family bike rides. The house has lots of spaces for everyone to retreat in privacy and a central open area for family time. Because our house is home for teens, we have all the wifi and video games.
There's lots to see, do and EAT around the Triangle. If you're still trying to figure out how you'd spend time in Chapel Hill/Durham, download a guide to our favorite places here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YwH8LyvR3QD-iK4wYh-sEBRcwYLzt4Mz/view?usp=sharing
Our neighborhood was conceived as eco-friendly and intentionally diverse. We are close to our neighbors and it's important to be quiet in the evenings. A creek meanders behind our home and you can often find children looking for frogs or playing in it. Our house is situated on a bike path/walking trail, and we watch neighbors and friends pass by from our porch. Our neighborhood has two playgrounds and a communal swimming pool.
We are a quick 10 minute drive to Franklin Street, which is the heart of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There's great basketball and football, of course, but our lesser-known sports like women's volleyball and baseball can make for a fun afternoon as well! Duke, all of the history of downtown Durham are a 3 minute drive, but it's the FOOD that will keep you coming back to the Triangle again and again. Durham has been named Bon Appetit's foodiest small town in America. And both Chapel Hill and Raleigh have been recognized by the New York Times, Zagat's and Southern Living. We'd be happy to host you at our fine dining restaurant, The University Club, or we can happily help you find the best of the best in our area. Want handmade dumplings? NC BBQ? The best goat cheese? Artisan-made pasta? Locally distilled spirits? We've got it all at our backdoor and we have waistlines to prove it!
The house itself is an open floor plan. The kitchen, dining room and family room are open and make it easy to prep and eat while you watch games on Hulu live. There is an office on the main floor along with a powder room. On the back porch you'll find a small grill with a sofa for hanging out.
Downstairs there's a small bedroom with a bathroom and a teen hangout room which one of our sons uses as a bedroom. In it you'll find a 80" flat screen tv, a queen bed and a modern leather sectional.
On the top floor you'll find a master bedroom with a large shower and freestanding tub, a closet with mini fridge and dishwasher, a bunk room and bedroom with a jack and jill bath.
